25-Year-Old Motorcyclist Dies At MD/PA Line, Coroner Says

A 25-year-old motorcyclist has died in a crash on Monday, May 22, 2023, the York County Coroner's Office announced the following day.

The man was driving a Kawaski motorcycle south on Route74/Delta Road in Peach Bottom Township "when he passed a vehicle, crossing over the double yellow line at a high rate of speed," according to the coroner's release. He then attempted to make a short right turn into the straightaway as a Honda CRV was attempting to turn left into the M&T Bank at 6960 Delta Road (by the Welcome to Maryland sign)— "the CRV was ultimately impacted by the motorcycle at 3:59 p.m." as stated in the release.

Deputy Coroner Michele Kirchner was called to the scene to certify the death and investigate at 4:35 p.m.

The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. 

He died from multiple blunt force injuries and the cause was accidental. There will be no autopsy but a routine toxicology test will be performed, according to the release. 

The motorcyclist's identity has not been released at the time of publishing.
